Bwindi is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Your trek, led by expert guides and rangers, will take you deep into ancient rainforest for up to one hour with a habituated gorilla family.
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Meet your guide and begin the scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (approximately 8-9 hours). Drive through the beautiful Ugandan countryside, passing through Kampala and southwestern Uganda's rolling hills. Arrive at your lodge near the park. Evening briefing about tomorrow's gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge.
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for briefing at 8am. Receive instructions from rangers about gorilla trekking etiquette. Set off into the ancient rainforest to track one of the habituated gorilla families. The trek can take 2-8 hours depending on gorilla location. Once found, spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge. Celebration dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, begin the return journey to Entebbe/Kampala. Stop at the Equator for photos and refreshments. Optional stop at a local craft market. Arrive in Entebbe/Kampala in the evening. Transfer to airport for departure or overnight in Entebbe if you have a late flight. End of tour.
