Travel Tips

Essential information for your East African safari adventure

Before You Travel

Visa Requirements

Most visitors to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda require a visa. We recommend applying for an e-visa before departure:

For multi-country safaris, consider the East Africa Tourist Visa which covers all three countries.

Vaccinations & Health

Consult your doctor at least 6-8 weeks before travel. Common requirements include:

  • Yellow Fever vaccination (mandatory for entry)
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Typhoid
  • Malaria prophylaxis (highly recommended)
  • Routine vaccinations up to date

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all our safaris. Ensure your policy covers:

  • Emergency medical evacuation
  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Lost or delayed baggage
  • Adventure activities if applicable

  • Never stand up in the vehicle unless permitted
  • Don’t use flash photography
  • Follow your guide’s instructions at all times
  • Never feed or attempt to touch animals
  • Respect the environment – take only photos, leave only footprints

Photography Tips

  • Early morning and late afternoon offer the best light
  • Bring a beanbag or window mount for stability
  • Keep cameras ready – wildlife moments are fleeting
  • Capture the landscape, not just the animals
  • Always ask permission before photographing local people
